Everyone knows the famous and often quoted statement that you can’t judge a book by its cover.
This generally means that you shouldn’t overlook something of potential value due to an outer appearance or presentation that may appear to be lacking. In other words, the outer packaging may not be indicative of the inner content.
This statement is so often repeated and appears to make sense, at least from a surface layer and at first glance. Over the course of my life I’ve considered this statement to be true for the most part. However recently I’ve come to a somewhat different conclusion based on knowledge and wisdom gained through individual spiritual studies and meditation.
The major consideration that has shifted this consideration is the mirrored and recursive nature of life within the matrix of our reality.
The mirror-like aspect describes the idea that all exists within everything. Each part of creation is a mirror, or reflection of the Creator, existing in totality. So it is in this way that we are the Creator.
The recursive aspect is the concept that creation exists as a fractal pattern – the whole of creation is mirrored all the way up and down the chain of creation – as above, so below.
In practical terms, and in relation to the opening statements, this idea of mirrored being and fractal recursiveness implies that our outer world is a direct mirror, and therefore repetition of our outer world.
In other words, the book cover is a direct reflection of the book contents.
Consider what this further implies for you and your environment. Your body is a direct reflection of your inner self, or consciousness. Consciousness informs matter, matter does not inform consciousness.
So if you’re seeking any change within your body – you must do the inner work. As the inner work progresses, your purified consciousness will inform your body and thereby you will see definite changes reflected in your outer physical form.
We can extend this a step further.
Through this same concept you may further change your outer environment. As the inner work progresses, and your consciousness raises, your outer environment will begin to transform as well.
1. Individual Consciousness = Mirror of the Creator
2. Body = Mirror of individual consciousness
3. Environment = Mirror of body as a mirror of individual consciousness
When viewed in this manner you may view your outer form and environment as a mirror reflecting back to you the state of your inner consciousness.
The work of consciousness is directly reflected in the mirror of your body. Your environment is a reflection of your body. The inner work ripples throughout your entire existence. This is where the lasting work is to be done.
When viewed from this light, the physical body and the environment in which you reside have no innate value in and of themselves. They are merely vehicles for the evolution of consciousness and serve as indicators of said progress.
As such, resist the urge to focus your efforts on the image or reflection. Begin to view all work as inner work.
So now we know that you can judge a book by its cover. But is it wise to do so?
Another interesting consideration when revisiting our original statement is the use of the word “judge”. Judgement is one of those loaded words. If all is a mirror, or reflection of yourself, when judging others, you are judging yourself.
As with the reflections, judgement has zero value in and of itself.
As such, perhaps assess or observe would be a wiser choice.
So now we may say that:
You can assess the contents of a book by its cover.
Or:
You can observe the state of individual consciousness by the reflection of the individuated body and resulting environment.
There are a number of methods by which you can perform the inner work. I offer options in the form of books and digital courses.
