At first glance Time Machine Leadership appears to be a fictional narrative with the objective of teaching management techniques through parable. Time Machine Leadership does in fact do this, however there is so much more to this book. The author, Scott Cochrane does a superb job of weaving together complex ideas with roots in neuroscience, human psychology, metaphysics, and business within a simple and straightforward story that is brief in length, yet with the potential for high impact to the willing and open-minded reader.
Prior to reading Time Machine Leadership I possessed some of the pieces required to construct my ideal future, however I felt something was missing. There were some unanswered questions for me, specifically how does one believe they are in the ideal moment while continuing to express gratitude for the present? How does one actually reach the envisioned future?
Time Machine Leadership not only answered these questions but provided additional information that I was not even aware that I was seeking. One of the best aspects of Time Machine Leadership is that the philosophy may be applied not only to executive leadership, but to any professional or personal objectives. For example, if there is a gap between where you are presently at and where you would like to go in your business, family, or hobbies, I believe this book will help you get there.
Many management books are great at outlining the philosophy but miss the action steps. Time Machine Leadership not only provides a solid philosophical foundation, but also an easy to understand four phase process for implementing the Time Machine Leadership philosophy.
Similar to the subconscious mind, my impression of Time Machine Leadership is that there are likely many layers that I will discover over time as I revisit the text and implement the techniques. I strongly recommend Time Machine Leadership to anyone with a strong desire for improvement and the willingness to take the action necessary to bring about such change.
